I second Ken's comments about Ron , his operation, knowledge and prices . The man is jumping through his butt to keep up, even with hired help so give him a break. If you cannot get what you want from Ron as quickly as you would like it , remember that there are other options. Kyle Wade( Volks motorsport) has prices very close to Ron's and is very knowledgeable as well. I live in Chicago and have a local source that I think that the list should be aware of. It is a place called MidTex; and the owners name is Randy. This is also a one man operation which supplies the local dealers and some of the higher priced mail order supply houses as well. Randy knows VW and Audi very well, being a former Audi factory mechanic .His prices are right there or sometimes even a hair lower that Ron's if you can believe it! The major advantage to me is being able to drive to his shop and get what I need if I cannot wait 2-4 days from Ron. Now I do not work for ,am not related to or get paid from any of the aforementioned gentlemen , but I do Know a good value when I see it and would just like to say that without vendors like these ,I would not be involved with Vanagons simply because of the outrageous parts prices that FLAPS and Dealers try to get! Here is the info on MIDTEX Ph.# 630-904-5745 or 630-904-5743 ask for Randy and tell him Tom from Chicago told you about him . This guy is a great resource for us Midwesterners in particular. Thanks!
