First of all, thanks to everyone who responded to my question! Further evidence of my ignorance, I'm afraid: I pulled my Westy to the back of the house to work on it, called a local parts guy to see if he had an alternator in stock (he did: $170!!), put on some work clothes, and prepared for an evening of getting to know my Westy a bit better and dirty... ...only to discover that the little blue wire (to the alternator warning light) connector had come loose. I re-connected it, and - upon starting the engine - found that the alternator warning and oxygen sensor LEDs no longer came on. [blushing] Now I'll try to fix the blinking temperature warning light... -Marty Wallace (1984 Westy "Heisenberg") Older, and a bit wiser, now... Chico, California
