Some shops are cool about it. Looks like your old shop likes to "tax" on parts. If I were you, I'd exegite your receipts to the nth degree to find out what the deal is.

See if you have any invoices from a time when you took a car in and had parts replaced. Your receipt SHOULD break down the repair costs into each individual cost. Compare the prices of the parts to the prices you found at your FLAPS, the Internet, or whatever. The answer should be made plain.

I dunno... maybe the shop will lose its bulk discount rate from a supplier if it doen't buy/sell/use enough parts. Never having been a buyer for anyone, I can't say for sure. Opinion, Ron?
