Hello Chris. I purchased a Covercraft Ultralon car cover for our Miata, and it works very well for the outdoors. You can reach them on the web at www.covercraft.com. I highly recommend the Ultralon cover for outdoor storage as it allows excellent breathability, and keeps water away from the paint. Not too sure if they make one for the Vanagon, but you could ask.

Harry.
