I have bought a Syncro with a catastrophic transmission defect.
This transmission won't even be acceptable as a core anymore.
VW might accept it, but the rebuilt unit is $3800.

Even if I would find one, I don't really need a second Syncro, but I
would love to have the Syncro specific parts in stock (security blanket
effect).

Considering parts prices, the parted out Syncro might amortise with the
first few parts I might need.
I would rather have bought a Syncro that was in an accident, so the "to
part out or not to part out"- question would have been easier.

Anyway,
what I will be left with is a nice 87 Vanagon GL Weekender Syncro body.

Otherwise the parts are for sale. The interior is gray, has the folding
rear seat bench and the folding middle seat bench. Nice seats.
The body has a dent in the sliding door.
I also will sell (if possible) the skid plates & stuff, the computer,
suspension parts (springs and stuff), dashboard & components, fuel
system with tank, and doors/lids, and the side panels.

I am also looking to buy or trade certain interior parts in brown
velour.

I will come to "Busses by the Arch", where delivery of parts or body is
possible.
