Ed,

>where did you see the camper? Did they have a weekender? I am in PA and > would like to see it.

Since they only had one which I was interested in and no other dealers I have spoken to expect any others anytime soon I have to keep the source secret until I decide to buy or not buy the camper. They did not have the weekender there.

>I think you've got some good pricing (and perhaps erroneous) as I have >test driven the MultiVan yesterday and I found this VWweb site pricing to >be accurate through several phone calls to dealers:

If you look at www.kbb.com it shows a markup of $3,000 on the eurovan and another $800 or so on the weekender option. So there should be more room to negotiate.

>The rest >of the camper at $ 35,900 strikes me as a good price differential ($1,000 >for cabinets, sink, stove, shower <g>, etc

Remember there are things you lose with the camper as well. You no longer get an option of what color or interior you want, you lose the alloy wheels for hubcap covered steel wheels, only have seeting for 2 in the back seat, lose the heated seats option, and drive around in a van thats much heavier and about 1.5' longer.

>Can you tell me any of the following: >Do the front seats swivel inwards? >Is there more than 10 inches between folded down armrests (as in MV)? >How about the airconditioning in the rear (the GLS and MV 2nd AC unit is >gone as are the overhead AC vents)?

Both front seats swivel. I didn't measure the distance between the armrests but it looked like about a foot to me. There is no rear a/c but there is a rear fan.

BTW, I have brochures they gave me for both the van and the camper. I'd be happy to copy them and mail/fax them to you.

Alex
