Michael,
I am very interested in this post.  I have been intending to replace my
1.6TD with a TDI engine or find some other way of increasing power and have
been doing some research into this. One of the things which I have not been
able to find much information on is the location of intercoolers - it is not
covered in much detail in Martin's website on the TDI conversion and I know
nothing at all about fitting one to the standard 1.6TD.
Where is a good place to fit it and how is it supplied with a cool airflow?
Do you know if the pipework needs much modification?  Any information on
fitting to either the 1.9TDI or 1.6TD much appreciated!
