NOT TRUE.  the lugs support all the weight of the wheel, nothing to do with
the wheel resting on the hub.
ever seen a '50-''70 bus? or '67 down bug?  are those wheel centers resting on
the hub???
i think not...
as for the 15"Audi turbo/quattro or 15" Passat wheel conversion - it's an
excellent idea, BTDT, and had no problems.
it seems that the only skeptics are those who have never tried it.
