Subject: Cleaning my Water Tank

I'm heading off this weekend to do some camping, and got to thinking. I want to be able to drink out of my water tank. Right now, I use it to clean the dishes and that's about it. I usually bring a seperate container for drinking water, and that is kind of a pain. I was going to get some of those water purifier tablets that they sell at camping stores, put the appropriate amount in and let it go to work. However, I don't know if this will be a permanant solution.

It's an '81, but the tank seems fairly clean. The Van was camped in, so the tank did get some use (no 15 year old water sitting in it). It appears clean, it doesn't smell bad and all the pipes look good.

Has anyone cleaned their tanks succesfully? I though of taking a sample in and having it tested. Where would I go? Dept of ???

Thanks, Craig ------------------------------------------------------------------ Craig Standley cstand@u.washington.edu University of Washington http://weber.u.washington.edu/~cstand Physics ------------------------------------------------------------------
