You wouldn't want to use the iodine tablets from the camping store, they will leave a taste in the tank. Chlorine doesn't bind with the plastic material, so you will want to use for sure.

There's a sticker on the tank in my bus with instructions on amount of chlorine (bleach??) and how long to wait to purify it. Unfortunately, the crucial part of the sticker is obliterated, so I can't help more than that.
