Subject: Blinking Dash Warning Lights!
Comments: To: Vanagon@VANAGON.COM
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

While driving my 1984 Westy on the highway today, the battery/alternator AND the oxygen sensor lights started to dimly flicker in unison. This concerted flickering continued to increase in intensity and frequency until both the lights were on continuously. Now they seem to both be on most of the time, but occasionally - especially after driving involving turning lots of corners - the both go off again.

Also, after parking the van on a steep (10-15 degrees) shoulder, the temperature warning/coolant level light in my 1984 Westy started blinking, and has been blinking for the past 1,000 miles or so. The engine temperature is well within it's typical operating range (about 1/2 way up the LED or below), the coolant levels in BOTH the coolant tanks are fine, and the van runs great.

Anyone see this before? Any clues as to where to start to try to chase this problem?

Thanks for your help,

Marty Wallace (1984 Westy "Heisenberg") Chico, California
