I have been fighting the problem of the temp. light for years.  I have
learned that the temp. light circuit is composed of three components.  A
probe in the tank, a "relay" mounted under the dash on the left wall, and
an integrated circuit built into the temp. meter itself.  Finally solved
the blinking problem of the temp. light by replacing the temp gauge only to
have it go out again a week later(stayed on constantly and then finally
went out completely).  It did solve the problem, and it did act normally
for the two week period.  Let me know if you solve the problem.
