Thanks to all that responded. We also had the problem of leaking water at the base of the fawcet due to high water pressure. Now we keep a pressure regulator screwed into the end of the hose and always connect with it. Have never had another leak since. Those little clamps they use to secure the water connections under the sink are just not meant to withstand the pressure of most "city water" connections.
