>I recently purchased a used Paulchen rack and have a few questions; First, >I have a bike with a large diameter seat tube, the paulchens method of >gripping the tube does not work, do they sell an adapter for large diameter >tubes? Also, where can I get accessories for my new rack? And finally how >do I know if I have a new or old style rack? I am assuming it's old style >because it says "Made in W. Germany" and well it's been a while since West >Germany's existed. My rack is black with a fold down tray with room for 2 >bikes, 2 points to attach the clamps that hold the seat tubes and a brass >lock which I don't have the key for yet, does this sound like the old or new >style? Thanks The old style is shown at http://www.vanagon.com/info/vehicles/beethoven/paulchen.html The new style is silver, I believe, rather than black. My rack (old style) doesn't have a gripper for the seat tube, but that may have been an option. I got the spacer bar, which holds bikes away from the body (see the web page above.)
