Hello, Volks! Saw the strangest Westie while in Buffalo, NY today on business. Someone had taken a mid '70's Westie, removed the front half of the poptop, and welded - yes, welded - a mid '60's Beetle to the top of the camper. Imagine, if you will, drawing a line from the bottom of the headlights on, say, a '69 Bug, around the circumference of the car, to the bottom of the tail lights. Now cut the car using that line as a guide. Take the top half, gut it, and weld it to the top of a Westie. Then paint it all the same color (Metallic Burgandy). I really wanted to talk to the guy driving the vehicle, and while this thing could hardly be lost in traffic, I gave up following it after five or six miles. If this is your Westie, and you were on Transit Road in Depew, I'd really like to know more about that van. Alan Bosch, aka Ever the Wannabus "...fah'n, fah'n, fah'n, auf der Autobahn..." |
