I got my '80 Vanagon back after having gone through starting troubles and finally having my mechanic need to replace the ignition switch and the lock collar. Starts great...trouble is now that it idles to slow and tries to quit...and often succeeds. Driving is fine after about 10 MPH. It acts like it doesn't know how much gas to give itself...since this model is a throtle body with an injection unit there isn't much a novice can adjust. It ran fine before it quit on me back in April...I'm thinking/hoping maybe its' just got some varnish in the injectors. I had played around a bit with some of the connections on the harness to the injection unit to make sure things were clean and tight but don't think I left anything off. The cold start switch connector is broken on one side and a bit loose but seems to be on and making contact. Any ideas where I might look? My first plan is some injector cleaner and some premium gas...from there I'm not sure. -- -- Wil ----------------------------------------------------- -- dhaslup@erols.com - http://www.erols.com/dhaslup - ----------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------- The only thing that stops God from sending another flood is that the first one was useless. -- Chamfort
