I recently had to have the mechanical part of my ignition replaced.

I bought my '80 Vanagon used about a year ago...the side sliding door handle had been replaced and the seller didn't have the appropriate key.

Now I have an ignition key, a key for most of the doors and I have to unlock the sliding door from the inside.

If anyone has had experience changing the door locks I'd appreciate some advice. I have removed the sliding door handle but can't figure out how to get the lock cylinder out to get access to the pins. I've seen and helped rekey cylinder locks for other things...is this that different...just juggle the pins around until the turn with the new key.

...or should I just remove them all and take them to a locksmith and probably pay a good chunk of change to have them all changed?

Also, the handle on the sliding door was missing its gasket...kind of loose and floppy because of this...anyone know of a source for such gaskets? I'm planning on repainting so I may want the whole set to replace all of them.
