HEY THERE,

I have some questions about my recent purchase Syncro. I have owned many vanagons and I have been looking for an 87 1/2 camper (MV) Syncro, for about three years. I finally found one in premo condition or so I think. 90k on the thing, owned by an older 60's couple since new. M questiomn is .... When I turn sharp in Reverse I here what sound s like binding with a loud sort of "ping" "png" It makes me feel uneasy, IS THIS NORMAL?? is it possible that the diffs are stuck in Locked?ALSO .... i HAD IT up on a lift and I was checking the underside, so I also checked the play on the front diff and the rear, the front right tire seemed to have a lot more backand forth play then the others...... normal???? How do I check to see if the differetial is locked, I want to make sure that the selector actually works.....

Thanx for any help Chris 87 Syncro 1/2 Camper 75 Westy 71 Westy 55 Single cab Still looking for bay or split window Double cab in most any condition...
