Here is my problem I have a 1990 Vanagon I just bought. The transmission
does not shift out of first when in drive and lets the engine overrev.
When you place it in second it sounds fine and when you place it in
first
it is fine. Reverse needs a little gas to get it to engage. No apparent
metal
or particles in the fluid. PO did let the engine overheat with a broken
thermostat housing any info would be appreciated.
