Don't worry about pushing in the clear plastic piece at the bottom of your fridge. There is a sight glass between the piece and the burner so there is no chance on burning anything. I did the same thing when I got mine. If you are a new owner you may want to consider pulling the fridge to clean behind it. It is not too hard and you can push the plastic piece back into place. It's good to clean the cooling fins every few years. If you do this, you may want to consider replacing the cheap cooling fan with a PC type brushless fan. It will cool better and won't make as much noise. Check the list archives for more detailed discussion on these fridges.
