       Good chances it's the headlight switch. These are a problem.
After long drives with the lights on they tend to overheat and
the next time you turn the lights on they don't work. Easy to replace
snap off the speedo cover, remove plug to switch, and remove switch.
No tools needed. If your real good, you can even take the switch
apart and file out the melted plastic and reuse it.
