I have a used hitch for sale for a watercooled Vanagon.  This is the
light-duty one that bolts to the tow hooks, but with a twist.  There is also
a platform that attaches to it (slips into two mounts) that will hold a
Rubbermaid type storage box, cooler, etc. (when the hitch isn't being used
for a trailer).  The only problem is that there is place where you can
padlock the storage box or whatever onto the carrier, on which is attached a
padlock for which I have no key, so you'd have to saw it off or else not be
able to lock it.  I'd sell the hitch/carrier combination for $99 plus
shipping.
