I installed one on my 85 westy 6 years ago that I ordered from JC
Whitney. It was on sale, <$100, and was a nice beefy unit.  The
installation required drilling some holes in the frame for mounting.
It wasn't too challenging of a project; accompanying directions were
good, had drilling templates, etc.  I did see some immediate positive
effects in handling, particularly in cornering.  I believe cross-wind
resistance was improved, but this may be an over-optimistic perception
on my part.  The unit has held up well over the 6 years.  Only problem
was that I had remove it temporarily to replace a tranny this summer,
as it crosses at the front tranny mount.
