Listees,

I had the chance to get the Syncro to the dyno. We removed the Driveline and went to New Demensions in Santa Clara to test HP.

New Demensions is a Shop that's been around many years and has been doing HP Vw work for as long as I can remember.

Vick was our contact at ND he was QUITE taken back at the Syncro SingleCab:) He's seen MANY VW's in his life but not a MONSTER like this:)

We rolled the Syncro into the shop and put it on the Dyno. I had to sign papers to let Vick take the engine to determined RPMS without he or ND being responsible if the engine fail etc.

We decided that 5000 was the max we needed to go. Vick ran the Syncro up to 1500, 2500, 3500.4500, then 5000 taking all the readings from the Dyno.

After all was said and done the "Converted Horse Power is 107.2.

Now this is a lower # than I expected to see, but it carries true to what I've been told by a few other Listmembers about what the #'s would really be by doing this type of work to a Waterboxer engine.

The Improved driveabilty with this about 17 HP incresase is a great deal.

A number of things have to be considered here too;

The hp has to be transfered thru the trans with a Loss of HP due to the direction it works in the trans. 107.2 is the converted HP with a consideration for the trans loss.

A front wheel drive car would have a different transfer direction and a more direct power to the ground transfer.

The Dyno Sheet will be up ASAP on the web site. I plan to keep both Dyno Sheets up so that anyone who chooses can compare the two.

I hope this info is helpful and also what some of you have been waiting for?

I have Chips and I'm waiting for 10 sets of Rockers from Gene Berg. * or so of these kits have been spoken for. If enough people want to get in on this I'm ready to go ahead with the 2nd round and order more chips and rockers to fill those orders.
