Your owner manual, like that for any VW T2 made after 1975 or so says 44 for C load range tires (typical 45 or 50 psi max) or 40 psi for "reinforced" passenger tires (the oddball German thing, ie XZX, Conti, MXL reinforced) which are typically 40 psi max. And those numbers are probably full load values, backing them off a tad to give handling to your liking is wise. They say to carry the spare at 44 or 40 respectively so you can bleed it off if you put it on the front. And regardless Tire Rack still would have a pile of comparable tires for much less than $108 each. Many good choices in the $75 each or so range with shipping, say another $10 each for a lifetime mount and balance at Wards and you'd be well off. Again the real low ball good tires would be the Conti or Y356 at about $50 each in the 185R14, if looking for 205's for alloys you will be into it for a bit more $$ but still a number of great choices for less. 195/75 C load is a good fitment as well.
