Actually the 091 in various forms was used through
the end of the U.S. importation of the Vanagon and
still in use in other countries today.

It breaks down to-
1976-1979 Type 2 Bus nosecone shift (091)

1980-1983 Aircooled Vanagon gearcarrier sideshift
                                                               (091)
(the Diesel was a combo 002 maincase with a
091 gearcarrier sideshift)

1984-1992 Watercooled Vanagon maincase sideshift.

The easiest way is to make sure that you are using a
aircooled Vanagon trans core with your Bus core.

My question is why do you want to do that??  Bad
trans in your late Bus and good aircooled Vanagon
core trans laying about??
