I guess all of you reading the subject thought "well, that was another Syncro 'box", but this was another kind of problem, the one I least thought would happen. Yesterday, while driving around, I noticed the distance between 1-2 and 3-4 speeds began to be too long, always banging the stick into the CD-player while putting it into 3rd. I figured it to be a coupler on the rods underneath, and finally had to drive home (about 3 miles) in 2nd speed, because I couldnt get it to neutral. When I got home I got a friend of mine to move the stick, while I looked under. Suddenly, I heard him go "ooops", and he told me to look at this. When I got out from underneath the van, he stood there with a strange smile, and the stick in his hand! My question to you all is: Is the stick on the syncro similar to the 4-speed or the 5-speed? One shop I talked to said that the Syncro and 5-speed used the same stick, and the 4-speed were different, but they didnt have any for sale :-( , while the other shop(the had a Syncro car, but was not sure wether they was going to part it out) said that it was the other way around, that I could use one from a 4-speed. If you have any info on this I sure would appreciate this, as this is my only car, and it is so hard to get to and from work.
