I know this is a Vanagon problem but there is a wealth of Type 4 knowlege on the 914 list so....

I have an 82 Vanagon Westfalia camper with the 2.0 Ljet aircooled engine. The engine is a California spec with Hall distributor. It has a miss under load especially at higher rpm's and loading. I have done the new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, and the problem persists. Is it possible that I have some kind of fuel injection problem? BTW, I also have replaced the fuel pressure regulator and have swapped out the AFC with no change.

Another (unrelated?) problem is that starting from cold, overnite sitting, requires a lot of cranking. Once it has started once, there is no problem starting again, even if it sits for an hour or more.

Any ideas? I'm running out.

Thanks,

Ken 74 914 2.0 75 914 1.8 82 Westy 2.0 Austin, TX
