I sell the head gasket kits (with sealant) for $63.95 each, but also sell a complete engine gasket kit (also with sealant) for $129 listmember price. Since this does both sides plus has the other gaskets, it's probably the better deal for about the same total cost. To do the job right you really should pull the engine down to the jugs, so replacing the rings would be easy to do while you've got it apart. There are also a few VW tools that are recommended in the Bentley manual for doing the job, which I rent for a nominal $15 per use, plus postage (basically to recoup the $300 cost) if you bought the parts from me. I make them available first-come first-serve; currently they should be available in about two weeks.
