One of my friends has one in his Bronco that is a single piece which unfolds to cover the windshield AND both front side windows. It is an insulated foil covered unit that uses suction cups to anchor it to the side windows. I currently have a cheapo cardboard thing that won't even cover the whole windshield. I have checked the FLAPS and can't find this type of screen. The one my friend has was purchased somewhere in the Philadelphia area. >> I recommend using Reflectix, which is available at lumber yards and good hardware stores. You can buy it by the foot off a roll. It's 24" wide and it works fine in my Vanagon. I keep extra sheets rolled up and stashed under the seat. It makes great impromptu coolers and warmers (line a cardboard box and you have an instant insulated storage container). When I had my heat- challenged '81 Vanagon, I covered the driver's seat with it -- it reflects your body heat and is almost as good as a heated seat, 'though it takes a bit longer to get the effect. It's right up there with Velcro on the gizmo-meter. Michael 87 GL |
