> Why would you be against DRLs? Unless of course you are also opposed seat > belts, air bags, turn signals, brake lights, side impact beams, etc. the only things in this list that are useless are drl's and airbags IMHO, drl's are the worst safety feature anyone has come up with... some examples of this fact. i was driving a rental truck that had drl's..this truck was a Chevy K3500 crew cab dually...essentially the biggest chevy u can get without going commercial.. and still, i almost got into 3 accidents which would not have been my fault.. one of them, a old lady was coming out of a driveway, stopped, and ten came right out of the driveway going 10 miles an hour into my lane.. i literally stood on the brakes with both feet (the truck was an automatic so the brake pedal was wide enough to accomodate both of my feet)
that wasnt the most obvious example of how drl's are totally unnecessary. the most obvious example was that my dad..who swears by drl's, who even goes as far as to turn on the lights of out jeep cherokee which doesnt have drl's ....... i was coming up the street and my dad backed out of the driveway right infront of me. i was going 5mph by now cause i knew he coudnt see me, so nothing happened, but it just goes to show that drl's do absolutely NOTHING, and when i say nothing i mean nothing, nada, rien, zilch, nicht, etc.., etc... sorry bout the sermon, but i believe it was necessary. laters people, Sudhir H.
