why is there such an extended discussion on this problem? it is such a simple and inexpensive fix [$20 something from kyle; who BTW diagnosed this for me over the phone in about two seconds]. order a new rear latch and install it yourself in about ten minutes. the thought of going to the dealer where only mischief can and does happen, for a twenty dollar repair is beyond me.....similarly, driving around w/ this problem while pondering secret warranties seems to be the height of procrastination.....just my twocents cheers jim catterson 91 syncro 93 ev gl ny
