I bought some heavy rubberbacked Gray (to match my interior) carpet from Home Depot, pulled out the original (easily removable) carpet, dropped it on top of the new stuff, cut to fit.... they have all types... heavy rubber if you just want one for the dog or moving equipment... pop it out, put in the better stuff for your night out with the Squirrel & Moose...
