Karl,

I have the same condition in my 84 Westfalia, and I have not been able to figure it out either. We've recently used the refrigerator for 47 straight days on a 9, 121-mile journey. It made ice for the entire journey, once we left the Southwest Desert. Beats me, too!

Please post your findings.
