Acutally you are not that far off.... it does take energy to turn on the lights. I think 1hp is something like 750 watts or something close to that... So if you are like me with 720W on highbeam [ rallye lights on ] then your 95hp wasserboxer will only be putting out 94hp of forward motion [less drive train losses, wind losses, dirt on paint losses, too many bug on the windscreen losses etc etc etc ]! :p
