1986 Syncro GL - Regretably For Sale . . .

It's in Sonora, California, near Angels Camp / Columbia and somewhat near Merced.

Here are some of the details about my Syncro. First, I don't want to sell it. I love it and believe it's close to the best utility vehicle available (2nd to the Syncro Westy). I enjoy driving it and feel psyched behind the wheel. It makes the coolest sound when the igintion is turned . . . you know: Do Doo Doooo, Do Doo Doooo, Do Doo Dooo, Do Doo Dooo. The view from thw driver seat is commanding, always feeling in control. That's a really small list of what I like about my Vanagon, but other priorites are taking over in my life and the mileage difference between the van and my life is 3500. I live in Alaska and it's living in California. Plus, I have a strong Suraru 4x4 and a 1992 350 V8 Chevy - 15 pax van, both of which shouldn't require any big maintaince. (of course a Syncro is cooler) That being said, it's for sale.

Oh, a funny side note first. I just received an official "Factory Recall" for this 86 Syncro. A call to the dealer informed me that VOA realizes a problem with the air conditioning unit and they will replace it FREE of charge. How funny, maybe VOA should realize that the head gasket fiascio is the biggest design flaw and air conditioning is really random and unimportant in comparison. Anyway, the AC recall is valid until December 1999.
