Funny. This is what happens to me when the sliding door is not latched fully -- the interior lights flicker. This tells me to stop and re-close the door. It only happens on my '86 GL -- the Kombi and the '80 Westy don't have a light switch on the door. It might also be the rear hatch not closed tightly, too. Check the easy things first -- Occam's Rasor and all.
