A little secret I learned when I bought my 1990 with a cracked windshield is to see how much it would be if you were paying out of your own pocket rather than insurance. In my case the new tinted window cost US$145, this included installation. This was lower than my deductable. I don't know if this is just USA or just Virginia. Just my 2 cents(American) Steve Hajasz

Mine is cracked and has been for a few months. Insurance will pay the C$400 replacement fee but there is a C$200 deductible in my case. I am stalling. I was also concerned to discover that insurance will not cover the gasket (seal).
