Hi all. I'm doing all I can to my van to avoid the bus fire syndrome on my '85 Westy, and I had an idea. While at a car show in Charlotte last spring, I came across some flame-resistant material, made somewhat like insulation. (less than 1/4-1/2 in. thick) I plan to sandwich a couple of layers of this stuff under the rear bed pad (over the engine lid) and also line the _interior_ of the bench seat (read, aux. heater container) with it. If Vicki ever "got the hot flashes" I hope this stuff could buy me a few extra seconds to help save the interior. Another plan would be to cut a piece of sheet metal (thin sheet metal) to fid the back deck specs. Anybody tried either of these things? Would they help or be useless? -Patrick '85 Westy GL Vicki |
