No need to import from overseas. Diesel Vanagon oil pumps are available right here. Expect to pay a little over $100 for the one with the right pickup tube from your favorite foreign FLAPS. (I'm sure the internet vendors can get them also) And yes indeed, the pickup tube for the slant Diesel installation fits on your very standard oil pump. You could get a used pump from a diesel and just machine (fly cut and polish) the mating surface to the pump, put it on a std aftermarket vw oil pump and voila you got the same result as if you bought the diesel vanagon oil pump. (Or better if you put it on one of the high capacity pumps with taller gears) Haven't bought an oil pan outright, but I've noticed that the Diesel engines from VW Canada come with the Diesel Vanagon oil pan if one specifies so. /Martin -- Martin Jagersand email: jag@cs.yale.edu Computer Science Department jag@cs.rochester.edu Yale University Slow down and visit the VW diesel Westy page: WWW: http://www.cs.rochester.edu/u/jag/vw ------------------------------------------------------------------- |
