My 88 Syncro has DRLs, because, here in Norway, it has been mandatory on new cars since Jan 1st 1985, and older cars also had to turn on the low beams. There is a fine of about $80 if you do not have the lights on... I do not know how the lights are wired on my Syncro, it is a factory install, and whenever the Ignition switch is turned to the "on" position, the parking lights front and rear and the low beams come on automatically.( you cant drive blackout at night, not that I would do that anyway) I do believe it has been mandatory in Sweden and Denmark too, and we have been looked at as loonies when driving in the rest of Europe in the late 80s. |
