Not true. All petroleum based oils and fuels will attack rubber and particularly suspension bushing rubber which is often natural rubber and is very susceptible to chemical attack. Some synthetic rubbers are resistant to oil/gas but even those will show some swell. Your best bet is to lubricate with silicone oil or silicone spray or a teflon type dry film spray. My experience though is that bushings don't squeak and groan just for the heck of it...it's probably time to change them which really isn't to big a deal.Mark
