Subject: 87' Syncro runs rough until warm

I just purchased a 87' Westy Syncro and it runs rough with a big loss of power until it has reached operating temp (needle in the middle of the idiot led). I was told that if I disconnect the O2 sensor and start the engine it would default the ECU and if the problem went away it was one of the three sensors (temp, thermo time sw, O2). If not, it is possibly the (OH NO!) ECU.

Is this a quick check or not a good idea. I have not seen any mention of this in the Bentley.

I did check the temp sensor by the thermostat and it measured 2800 ohms at 65 F but I did not run the engine yet to see if it lowers.

Any advice would be great!!!
