The engine pictured in the article shows a regular stock oil pan.

I read the later post that said they are using new vanagon diesel pans. I'm surprised they were able to attain them, probably from an overseas vendor. If we could get one of our list vendors (Ron?) to stock the oil pans and filler tubes. I could have a machine shop reproduce my engine mounts, then even with the expensive KEP adapter plate, a listmember could keep his cost under a $1000 (+engine). Heck, if we found someone else to make the adapter plate we might be able to go as low as $500.

I'm not really trying to knock the Eurospec price. While it's a bit steep, they have to have some room for profit and I don't think they're seeing to much of it even at $5k. I bet they raise the price within a year. -- _________________________ Erik O Akron, Oh '82 GTI Powered Westfalia
