David; First I would make sure the dealer is putting the correct parts in for your model engine and transmission. That accomplished I would proceed on the assumption that you have a minute amount of slippage and it is eating up your disk very slowly. Do you or your SO ride the clutch? If not I would look into a mechanical reason. Have you flushed the hydraulic fluid regularly? If not the master or slave cylinder may not be retracting fully due to rusted, pitted walls. If none of these I would investigate anomalies in your engine or transmission caused perhaps by an incompetent PO i.e. a release shaft that is bent or installed backwards, etc. Drive Safely & Good Luck Ken Lewis<Kernersville,NC>86 VW crewcab;60 T-5 Coupe
