I have recently caught Westfalia fever and need your assistance.  Is this a permanent condition (seems to be)?  Is it curable (do I want to cure it)?

Currently, I drive an 89 Cherokee so this is a bit of a departure.  One thing these vehicles may have in common is constant maintenance.  Am I right?  

Briefly, any responses, irreverant or otherwise, are very welcome.  I live near the SF Bay Area and would also appreciate any good local resources.
