My point is to get an original used VW Bosch A/C relays from juck yard if you don't want to spend $50. I knew lots of Jetta/Golf A/C relays are EXACTLY the same (same p/n) as Vanagon A/C relays. Like another member pointed out, there are usually very reliable. I believe your $14 (or $9 by another member) one may not be the original Bosch relay since the price difference is too large. Getting a new relay is always a better idea but I'd get the origianl Bosch, not the aftermarket one. An used Bosch relay may even last longer than those. While a majority of relays may LOOK the same, many have different amperage requirements - never use a lighter load rated relay in the application you're trying to replace, yer just asking for trouble, like a fire for instance (don't dis or laugh at that - I've seen it happen). Using relays from a junker vehicle is a crapshoot, but yeah it's cheap to experiment I guess. I always go with new ones whenever possible.

FWIW, applications for this A/C Relay are: Rabbit Cabriolet 83-on Jetta 83-on Scirocco 83-88 Corrado 89-on Fox 87-93 Quantum & Syncro 83-88 Passat 90-92 Vanagon 88-91
