Mine is 7'2" tall with the canvas canopy! The VW mechanic told me to take off the canopy if they have to work on my Syncro as they cannot lift the hoist up all the way.

As far as floor paint I have some basic grey stuff that I bought at a hardware store. Oil hasn't affected it very much...
