A good sized "milk" snake also works very well  (^:    (these known for
hanging from the rafters in barns....).   I can guarantee this, having
once shared a cabin with one that did an excellent job.....

Seriously though, mice, (or some other rodents) once gnawed  some of the
rubber hoses in my engine until there were almost holes in them!!!   I'd
left the car parked while camping  for over a week in the woods and
later discovered the problem!
