>Do people REALLY put anti-freeze in their drinking water tanks? Please, someone enlighten me where I am wrong about this.< Yes...because of the more complicated systems in RVs, including hot water tanks, toilets, pea traps, etc., a NON-toxic antifreeze can be used (the alternate, as Karl states, is the use of compressed air to blow out all water, if possible). This nontoxic stuff is odorless and tasteless but it is still a good idea to sanitize one's system in the spring (rinse, disinfect, baking soda routine). This is the same material used in solar hot water systems in the event contamination occurs. Like Karl adds, draining and running the faucet until dry works...which is an advantage of our Westy's more simple systems. Just don't forget those plastic bottles of Avion stashed under the seat!
